outfit of the day: festive in fuschia

I’m back! Not that I’ve been gone gone or anything. I’ve just been hunkered down at work, frantically trying to finish the year strong. And look what happened to December – Christmas is less than a week away!

I have mixed feelings about this skirt. It’s textured and thicker than the skirts I usually wear, and I wish it poofed out more (the one and only time I’ve ever wanted a crinoline underskirt is for this piece). But I like feeling cozy and wearing pieces that are winter-only.

I don’t know how to quite deal with the blog guilt – that nagging feeling that I’m neglecting you all when I just don’t have time to post. My priorities are probably the same as everyone else’s: family, work, everything else. I do my best, and if I can’t post, I try not to beat myself up about it.

Sidenote: somewhere between editing and uploading, the beautiful fushcia fuchsia (DAMMIT I hate that word!) color of my sweater was slightly muted in these pics. It’s actually much brighter, and I have no idea what happened.

I’ve also been neglecting my blog thanks to the holidays. It’s so hard to keep up when you work full time AND deal with cray cray holiday crap. I’m glad you’re back, though!

  3. Cute! I love the pop of fuchsia. I hate spelling fuchsia too. I need to start saying “fuch-sia” when I spell it out. I like the color of your kitchen. What color is that?

  8. What a beautiful color on you! You continue to inspire me to shop at Talbots, you find all of the good things there.
Don’t feel guilty. Between work and the holidays I’m impressed that you’re posting as much as you do. It’s such a crazy time of year. I’m looking forward to seeing your NYE outfit though!

    • Oh gosh so much pressure!! I hate to say NYE is one of my least fave holidays. Would it be bad to wear sparkles at home? :)

Talbots is getting ready to have their semi-annual sale in January so look out for amazing deals! Still so sad they’re closing my local shop.
