outfit of the day: day off

Stripes and jeans – and sparkly shoes.

Tee, J. Crew
Sweater, LOFT
Jeans, Old Navy
Shoes, Toms
Necklace, gift from my mom

Today is a day off for me, which is beyond fabulous. I finally finished book three of the Hunger Games, and I’m going shopping tomorrow. Glorious. My hair isn’t great, but I had to wear a Katniss braid in honor of my new favorite heroine. Seriously, if you haven’t read the books now, get them and get comfy.

  1. I love the stripes on stripes look. And I’ve always been a big fan of braids. You look far cuter than I ever do on a day off!

  2. Very cute! I have the same top and my daughter has the Tom’s! :)

  3. The stripes on stripes is so cute! And I love the sparkly Toms!

    Hi Catherine!

I somehow stumbled across your blog while looking for reviews of TOMS tonight. I am looking at purchasing my very first pair! I have read all sorts of stories on various websites about TOMS making feet really sweaty so I have been hesitant to buy a pair myself. Has this been your experience with TOMS or were your feet always dry when you wore them?

    Fantastic website, by the way!

Hi Sarah! I have never had a problem wearing Toms, but I only have one pair – the sequined ones. I have a feeling the canvas ones are more breathable, and I definitely wouldn’t wear them on a day where the temp is above 80. My sis-in-law loves them and wears them all the times with no problems. Good luck!

Thank you for your excellent feedback! I have never owned a pair of TOMS before so your reply is really appreciated! I am actually looking at getting a black pair of sequined TOMS. I am not sure it it is because I am slightly obsessive-compulsive but I have a terrible fear of my feet sweating in them because they are not breathable. Do you wear yours with or without socks? Have you ever noticed your feet sweating in them and, please excuse the slightly gross question, but do they ever smell? Thanks for your help! Have a great weekend, Catherine!

I’ve never worn mine with socks, and I probably never would. I also don’t wear them if it’s going to be above 80 out because I know my feet will be too hot. I don’t think they ever smell – at least mine never have! Hope that helps! :)
