new post: an experiment in layering

I was going to go the old cardigan route (and I very nearly wore the aqua cardi from earlier this week), but I wanted to try something different with this shell. Plus I am a sucker for a cap sleeve.

Shell, J. Crew
Tee, Old Navy
Capris, J. Crew Outlet
Pumps, Nine West
Bracelets, J. Crew and Tiffanys

Easy way to turn your summer tanks into new tops – just layer them over cap-sleeved tees.

Loved my shoes today – but holy frick did they hurt my feet after five ten minutes of walking. WORTH IT.

Have you sent your Color Challenge submissions yet? This month’s color is aqua, and I want to feature YOU! Send me your links and photos!

  1. I like the idea BBF. Way more interesting than doing the normal cardigan thing. Those shoes might hurt your feet, but hot damn they’re awesome!

  2. Love your orange capris! Those shoes are awesome, too bad they hurt, but they sure do look amazing on you.

  5. Agreed. Pain is totally worth it for those heels. Killer! I went to look at my archives to submit a look with aqua in it. I don’t have one! The shame! :) Hannah

  6. Cap sleeve tops are such great pieces to add a little something different to an outfit, it looks great! I think the polka dots were a nice tie in as well.

  9. Adorable outfit! I really love the colored trousers. And mixing the polka dots and animal print shoes is definitely a fun touch. Sometimes shoes are too cute to pass up wearing. Even if they are uncomfortable. I know I’ve sacrficed a little comfort because I was determined to wear a pair of heels.

  10. i like this idea a lot – i need to find a couple blouses in my closet it would work on!
