Whew! It’s already Thursday, but it’s my first day back in the swing of normal life, whatever that is. I’ve been on the beach since Saturday, spending my days just off the coast of Captiva Island and my nights eating my way through grouper and tuna and shrimp and any other seafood I can get my hands on.
It was a wonderful – and much needed – vacation. Seriously: I hadn’t been to the beach in seven years. That’s too long for anyone!
I had a wonderful time – but I am so glad to be home.
And I’m also glad to announce the July Color Challenge! This month’s color: pink!
Pink is obviously one of my favorite colors. It just screams happy to me. From the palest ballet pink to deep fuchsia, pink dominates my wardrobe. But lately I’m focusing on bright carnation pink – like this blazer that’s already one of my favorite pieces.

I keep coming across peoples’ beach photos and it’s making me super excited to go to the beach tomorrow! Also, that blazer is a stunningly pink color. I could never figure out how to wear it, but you seem to be doing smashingly. (:
What are the rules for entering? I have some sweet pink shoes I want to wear, but the rest may not be pink….but I want to participate!

Ahh, I’ve been so behind this week that I didn’t see this until now – hopefully I can pull something together in 2 days with the least frequently worn color in my wardrobe – it will definitely be a challenge!
