I watched my first Olympics when I was nine – or at least it’s the first I can remember. From the splendor of the opening ceremonies to my favorite event – ice skating – the Olympics became one of my favorite traditions. So of course I had to dress up in gold in honor of the games starting.

I always loved gymnastics. Then 1996 happened – and every girl I knew, including me, fell in love and wanted to be a gymnast. I even had a birthday party at my local gym that year.
Yep – that was me on my 11th birthday, wearing my brand new GK leotard (that was too small but I didn’t tell my parents because that would mean I wouldn’t have a special leotard to wear on my birthday). Best party ever. We even posed just like the Magnificent Seven poster I had hanging in my room.
Ok, so I’ll never get to the Olympics. And pull a muscle when I try to can barely do a cartwheel anymore. But I still get excited when it’s Olympics time. My favorite events are gymnastics, cycling, diving and swimming (Ryan Lochte, yum). What will you be watching?

You look great! And your hair looks so pretty. Loving the 11 year old Catherine too
My fave has always been gymnastics too, but why oh why does NBC keep playing them late at night so I am too tired to watch it all?! Bah humbug.
I love the olympics too! And what I love- YOUR TOP!

The gold top is so fun! I also took gymnastics when I was younger and I kind of regret not sticking with it longer. Gymnastics is pretty much the only sport that is perfect for short girls
I love watching the Olympics too…besides gymnastics, I love the swimming and diving.
This outfit is so chic, I love these photos of you. The golden sheen of this top is perfect on you and I love how you styled this Olympic inspired look.
Love love this top! You look amazing!
WOW..you were one cute little girl! And now you are even cuter! I still see that lovely smile!
Your hair looks so great today! As boring as it sounds, I always like watching the marathon! The endurance those athletes have is incredible.
Aww thank you so much! You are so nice to say that, especially since I thought my hair looked extra messy!
Love the gold top! The team is going for the gold! I’m totally watching! Too bad I already know the results.
love that gold on you. Xo Megan

Your hair looks fantastic like this! Tutorial! I demand one!
It’s actually this hairstyle, just done extra messy (because I was running late!): http://smalltownbigwardrobe.com/2012/01/19/hair-tutorial-hot-mess-hair-twist/
