Black and white outfits are appearing all over the place for spring, and I have to be honest – this is not my favorite trend. I’m much more comfortable wearing seemingly clashing colors and bright neons than I am wearing black and white. It’s a combo that has always seemed so harsh in its juxtaposition to me. Still, there’s something almost palate-cleansing about an uncomplicated outfit.
I’ve seen a ton of spring pieces coming out lately, but don’t forget to stock up on the winter sales for your outfits next year. If you don’t already own a faux fur vest, I HIGHLY recommend one. I wore this one twice last week. It’s the perfect layer on a cold day, and adds elegance to any outfit. Watch stores for these pieces on sale – it’s worth buying!

You know I love me some black and white so this is right up my alley. I keep wanting to get a fur vest but I just know the husband will continually pet me- in a condescending way.
Sarah, I have a shaggy white faux fur vest and every time I wear it my boyfriend calls me the polar bear so I went out a bought a less shaggy black faux fur vest and he loving refers to that one as the raccoon vest! Needless to say men are silly and generally clueless when it comes to faux fur so get a vest and rock it out!
Catherine I totally agree with what you said about an uncomplicated outfit being cleansing, sometimes you just need to hit the reset button. I think you nailed this outfit and the faux fur vest is fab on you, especially with that necklace.

The black and white trend that is popular right now is totally my style. I’ve had to stop myself from adding more black pieces to my wardrobe! It’s easy to get a little carried away.
And I LOVE that necklace. Such a great piece.
My problem with black and white is that it can look like you work in a restaurant if you aren’t careful, but thankfully most of the ways we are seeing this trend aren’t simply black pants and a white blouse. AND I have been looking for a black fur vest. I have 2 in shades of brown at different lengths/textures but I think I might be the only one who notices these differences.
I have trouble doing black and white too (I’m really into color also) but I LOVE the black and white on you! It’s really becoming. And your kate spade purse is adorable!!!
