fur babies

If you’ve perused my blog at all, you’ve probably noticed quite a few pictures of my animals. They’re my furry babies, and I love them to pieces (even when one of them wakes me up at 3 a.m. because he’s lonely and the other kicks me in his sleep).

All my animals are shelter rescues. Their lives before they came to me varied between abysmal and full of neglect. It’s safe to say they don’t have that problem here!

I have been an animal lover my entire life, and I urge you to consider shelter or rescue group animals when looking for your next pet. Petfinder is a great place to start, especially if you’re looking for a specific breed. (It’s what I used to find my St. Bernard.)

If you’re like me and your zoo is at capacity, you can still help!

  • The Animal Rescue Site is an easy way to give food to needy animals. All you have to do is click – and you’ve given!
  • Freekibble and Freekibble Kat are two other sites that use traffic to generate money for needy animals. Answer a trivia question and you’ve donated food!

I love the quote about shelter animals: “Who rescued who?” It’s so true with me – my animals are fortunate to have a good home, but I consider myself the really lucky one.
