I should never have waited until I was 26 to get my ears pierced. Everyone (especially my mom and cousins) told me earrings were so much fun to buy – and it took me 26 years to believe them. outfit of the day: lightning

Finally got my hair done yesterday – aaah. I feel so much better. Perfect timing too, because I just received my very own bad-ass glam lightning earrings.

These earrings, you guys. As fashion goddess Rachel Zoe would say, the earrings are everything. I might curse a lot, but I am not a bad-ass at all – except in these earrings I totally feel like I could wear an oversized leather jacket and get a tattoo. Or at least mildly consider getting one.

If you didn’t believe me before about my non-bad-ass personality, this picture is proof. That was supposed to be my rocker-chick pose.

I wrote a post last month about Lara, a local designer, and her amazing 5-inch lightning bolt earrings that were featured in the Betsey Johnson Spring 2012 fashion show in New York. After that post, Lara was nice enough to give me a pair of lightning earrings. These are the 3-inch version of the ones used in Betsey’s show, and I am OBSESSED. I swear I’m walking with extra pep today just because of them.

And yes, I did design my entire outfit around the earrings. Please tell me you’re not surprised.
